111-365v5 – Bluebells

We have a few bluebells popping up down around the burn at the moment. Debbie brought this one up to the house so I thought it would be rude not to photograph it. I added a texture to the background as it was photographed against a plain wall.

110-365v5 – Common lizard (Zootoca vivipara)

Debbie spotted this lizard basking on some old wood I had dug up out of the garden (it used to be part of the house’s old roof). Also known as the viviparous lizard apparently. We think we had an early sighting of this about 2 weeks ago but it legged

108-365v5 – Textured Art

I’ve been mooching around the house as it rained fairly consistently through the day looking for textures. As we live in an old converted barn we have a lot of stone walls and I liked this texture particularly. I made a brush of my old favourite Great Dunmow tree (which

107-365v5 – Over In The Corner

I always enjoy some abstract minimalism and, as I was sitting at my desk this morning, out of the corner of my eye, I spotted this small scene created by the wall around the staircase and the light streaming in from the velux window above. Daily photo sorted! Here’s a

105-365v5 – Triplets

The sheep in the local area have started lambing over the last week or so. Here is one overworked mother with triplets! Shortly after taking this shot we had another fly by from a couple of Chinooks (see here for an earlier visit). I noticed as they flew past that

104-365v5 – Jay

I should learn this lesson really, don’t shoot through a rain smeared, double glazed window and expect anything sharp to come out! That said, it’s actually come out quite painterly…which is something I guess.

103-365v5 – Mistle Thrush (Turdus viscivorus)

Another new bird to us in the garden today, we believe this is a Mistle Thrush (Turdus viscivorus) and we think we have heard this one singling and clicking over the last few days before we actually saw it today. Always nice to see a bird you haven’t (knowingly) seen

102-365v5 The Roger Albert Clarke Rally Kielder Carlisle Stages

To get to the Roger Albert Clarke Rally Kielder Carlisle Stages all the entrants have to drive up the B6357 on their way to the Kielder Forest where racing takes place. This meant we had around 102 rally cars, many of then vintage vehicles, passing our house on Saturday morning.
