Pictures can sometimes be misleading. You wouldn’t believe that, top right there is a scrap yard and criss-crossing back and forth all over the fields and trees are a number of electricity pylons and a telephone line – it did not look appealing, but with a careful bit of positioning
As a youth I loved Crass (“loving” Crass is probably an oxymoron), I was banned from bringing their albums into school, filled as they were with extreme political ideals and vitriolic music. I still love them and was delighted when they decided (rather un-Crass like) to reissue all their albums
We’ve been to West Wood before but not for a few months so it was nice to get out there on Monday before the weather closed in. We had lovely bright weather and the moon followed us around all day. So here’s a black and white shot of the moon
This was far harder to photograph than it should have been what with clearing away all the knitting on top of the stereo unit to find the old record player under an inch of dust. Was surprised when the record player worked straight away…but then couldn’t find any vinyl! Half

Looking from the east end of the Cathedral, effectively at the rear of the altar you can see right down the Cathedral to the West Tower and main entrance. A quite magnificent view, but the word “opulent” sticks in my mind – can that be right?

I visited Peterborough Cathedral the same day as Ely Cathedral and was equally impressed by this building which is massive and super gothic. Here’s a shot of the North Altar.
