Nowhere is safe from the empty shops of the internet boom, especially small villages like Newcastleton. The local hardware shop closed a little over a year ago (before we moved here) which is a shame as the village only has a small handful of shops available. I shouldn’t complain really as my job is building online web stores and then marketing them! You can visit my business at Make Digital Simple if you are in need of a new web site 😉
I was in the village to visit the excellent butchers there – if you are ever passing through give them a visit – I highly recommend their pies and sausage rolls (all baked on the premises) T Eliot & Sons if you are interested.
