Got out for a walk this afternoon, we were a bit late setting off and the sun was just setting as we walked round Garnetts Wood in Barnston. As usual we passed the wooden statue of Geffrey Garnet, a knight, who was given the woods by the King in the 12th
We popped out to Rowney Woods this morning for a walk. Whilst there were some pretty threatening clouds around the sun did periodically make an appearance as it did in this shot as we were leaving the woods, lighting up the young oak tree at the entrance.
It’s Saturday so it’s time for a panorama. Today it is of Doctors Pond in Great Dunmow, Essex at sunset. This is an HDR image made up of 5 HDR images, each made from 5 original images, so 25 images in all (5 per portion). All stitched together in Kolor
The forecast suggested that we might have a rather nice sunset this evening so I packed up my kit and headed over to Thaxted and an area of the edge of the town that has recently been cleared of a lot of hedges opening up the view of the church

A quick stroll around Rowney Woods this morning before the weather closed in. This entrance into the woods doesn’t actually exist but I took one picture of this area as we arrived and then a second picture (including the people) as we left. I then combined the two in photoshop
I wanted to get the fireworks from the local display appearing over Doctors Pond, which I have done before. The wind didn’t help in getting decent shots of the fireworks today – this shot was of the finale explosion at the end of the display and you can see the
Some days you just have to use what you have. This shot is from my morning walk and is one of those emergency shots you take, just so you have something in the bag. Today I was glad to have it as this was the best part of the day
