I originally thought this was a female orange tip, not least because we have loads of male orange tip butterflies in the garden. However, having done a reverse search on Google it does look like this is in fact a Green Veined White Butterfly (Pieris napi) which was enjoying the bluebells down by the burn this afternoon.

This was taken on my Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 lens which I haven’t used for ages, I’d forgotten what a nice lens it was and it claims to be a macro which does mean it has a reasonably short minimum focusing distance which is helpful.
