AKA 101 uses for old fruit you find in the recycling bin covered in cat food!
Occasionally we get the odd Greylag Goose paying a visit to Doctors Pond and this chap was a fine specimen, strutting his stuff amongst the squabbling ducks and Canada Geese. Sad to report that we are down to 4 ducklings now from the original 7.
On my way back from Great Yarmouth this evening I stopped off very briefly at Covehithe in Suffolk to have a look at the trees that have been sucked into the sea by erosion…as you will see, in the part of the coast I was on there really wasn’t much
We took a quick trip out to Perry Green this afternoon to see how the Bluebells were doing. Whilst it’s still a little early in the season, I can conform they are doing well but there are still more to appear!
Despite dire warnings of cold weather and rain today, we ventured out in the morning and visited, for the first time in a long while, West Wood, just outside Thaxted. A very rude woman sat in a convertible car started shouting at me as I stopped to take this photograph…she was, apparently, watching a chap drag in a fish from the pond…something that happens about 40 times a day during the fishing season, What the silly woman didn’t realise was
This stream/river used to feed the Tilty Mill which, whilst derelict, can still be found a little way down stream. The water is diverted away from the mill now. Lots more after the break.
One of those days where I haven’t got the camera out…until the last minute…these boxes caught my eye in the wife’s work room – her “daylight” bulb works well!
I have no idea what he had done…perhaps it was something to do with the tree in the background 😉
