Short on time and short on ideas tonight. The shopping arrived and this bottle of balsamic vinegar caught my eye (highly recommended, by the way). Not a great shot, but I learnt something and that is one of the reasons I set off on this 366 project.
The Bluebells are starting to make an appearance around here. We saw plenty in West Wood just outside Thaxted on Sunday.

I was asking my wife what I should shoot tonight as I had no ideas – she said – silver foil. I sighed and said it would be too dull. She said I had no imagination (in a friendly way I should add)! So…here’s a bit of fun with silver
I can’t play this, much as I would like to be able to. The only person who’s got anything tuneful out of this was, rather randomly, the bloke who came round and sorted out my satellite dish!
We visited West Wood near Thaxted today and saw a number of flowering plants including some early orchids, violets and primroses and this – which we believe (but could be wrong) are Speedwells. A weed, but a pretty weed 😉 Thanks to Buckeye on Flickr who has advised that this
Now, I understand that scarecrows are there to scare, but do they need to be this sinister 😉 He was doing a fine job mind – no birds in sight.
These narrow boats are all lined up down the River Stort Navigation, as we head into Spring and Summer more and more narrow boats are arriving on this stretch in Roydon.
I returned to the scene of my recent soaking today, the weather was substantially better and I was to spend a happy hour marching up and down the Stort Navigation in my lunch hour. This picture is of an arable field patrolled by some headless scarecrows…apparently the Canada Geese aren’t
