Birds at Lackford Lakes

Stepping back to April 2019 we visited Lackford Lakes in Suffolk (not far from Bury St Edmonds). Run by the Suffolk Wildlife Trust they have a number of bird hides with one particularly good for sightings of Kingfishers…because of this you can never get in 😉

Who needs Kingfishers anyway, they’re 10 a penny. Far better to photograph some of the more common place songbirds that flit around the woods. There is an area with a number of logs that the birds have become used to receiving food in the form of seeds and the like on so are quite happy to pop down, grab some seed and then retire to the safety of the surrounding trees.
