Of course, it’s not…but that’s what I thought of when I was looking at a number of similar images that I had taken of the underside of our frying pan!
This is the burnt charcoal type stuff that gets welded onto the pan…especially if you don’t clean it properly. My wife would like me to make it clear that it is MY job to do the washing up.
Whilst other photographers will understand immediately why I would photograph this , for those of you who came across this image randomly having searched Google for “photograph of the revolting underside of a filthy frying pan” (a popular search, I know) then I should explain. We photographers love a good texture and use all sorts of things to add interest to an otherwise boring shot 😉
