We visited Rainham Hall today which is a different type of national Trust property in that, because it has had over 50 different occupants with no one family using for any length of time, it doesn’t have a consistent history, so it has been used as a family home, a photographers studio and a Day Nursery, amongst other things.

The current display which opened yesterday is about its time as a Day Nursery during and after the second world war. It was very interesting and nice to come across that sort of institution where all the children appear to have been well looked after and were very happy whilst there.

If you want to see a rather more standard shot of the Hall…
