John Webb’s Windmill, Thaxted

It looked like it would be a good sunset this evening so I jumped in the car and headed for Thaxted. I had no real idea what I was going to photograph, but knew that there was always the church or the windmill to fall back on. As I approached Thaxted the sun was a huge golden orb slowly dipping towards the horizon. I parked on the main street opposite the Guildhall and walked up to the windmill, just arriving as the sun disappeared behind a great wodge of cloud! Sigh!

Looking away from the setting sun here’s a few of the windmill with Thaxted Church in the distance.
