I popped out into the garden just before the heaven’s opened for today’s deluge and caught this tiny forget-me-not that had recently bloomed. I like the painted effect that the very limited depth of field created.

We took a walk around Arkesden this afternoon – apparently Jamie Oliver lives in this area. As you could guarantee this week it absolutely chucked it down on us for a good 30 minutes, but it was still an enjoyable walk.
A shot of the Minstrels Gallery at Hedingham Castle. This started life as ah HDR but ended up as a simple blend of 2 exposures in photoshop which was much more effective.

The rain abated for long enough today for us to pop out to Castle Hedingham – a Norman castle over near Braintree and Halstead. Built around 1140 you certainly get a feeling of history walking around it. One advantage of the terrible weather is that we pretty much had the

The Bluebells are starting to make an appearance around here. We saw plenty in West Wood just outside Thaxted on Sunday.
