You can see v1 on my 365 project page. This is an ex bud on my wifes Moth Orchid that has dried out and turned all papery. I love the stem that looks just like a dried up umbilical cord to me…or is that just weird 😉 The image itself

I took some shots of a Moth Orchid we have. I noticed this bud that didn’t look like the other 2 buds coming out of the flower, sure enough, it is a papery husk. Strangely more interesting than the living, healthy buds.

This is a stacked macro made up of 10 shots of a lily. You really see so much more detail in these macro shots than you do just looking with your bare eyes.

Back to winter here today with a mixture of heavy rain and snow. So much for the taste of summer a few days ago 😉 I spent some time photographing some roses we have in the house. This is my favourite.

I noticed that my wife had been using the pestle and mortar today so took the opportunity to take a picture of it with some ground pepper in it.

Spring is certainly on its way as these catkins found in Rowney Woods demonstrate.

I had my first go at focus stacking this evening – that is to take a macro shot that is in focus throughout the image. It’s my wife’s birthday today and she got (amongst many other things) a Moth Orchid or Phalaenopsis Orchid to give its proper name which was
