As younger, hipper people than I apparently say “It’s been a minute”!
4 years since I last posted a photograph and 3 years since I posted anything at all. Many things have changed since then. We’ve moved house. After 25 years in Essex we’ve moved into the Scottish Borders, just outside Newcastleton and on the edge of the Kielder Forest and its dark skies. We’ve lost our cats now and have replaced them with our border collie dog Jess…lots of walking now takes place!
I was pondering whether I should try another 365 project and was fortunate to get the aurora borealis making an appearance on New Years Day, so I have made a tentative start…whether I continue with this, only time will tell. What is interesting is that I’ve certainly lost some of my photographic skills in the 4 years since the last project. Not a surprise and will be a good way of getting back into the swing of things.
I still have the old Nikon D800 and have upgraded my old Sony 6000 to the Sony A6600 (which I’ve had for a couple of years now) as my much lighter carry around camera. I do have a feeling the D800 is on its last legs…I’m not sure it’s focusing correctly anymore – I’ll need to do some focus tests on it…it could just be my ever deteriorating eye sight!
So enjoy and let’s see how long this lasts!
