You may recall our post a month or so ago talking about the condemned pine trees in Rowney Wood – you can see the post by clicking here. Well, here’s what happened to them!

As seen from Broxted, Stansted airports air traffic control tower was the tallest in Britain at the time of its construction and can bee seen from all round the local vicinity.

Walking in Rowney Woods at the moment you can’t help but notice the large number of acorns under foot, along with the busy scampering of the grey squirrels collecting them for future use. Some acorns cling to their oak tree taking on a very brown appearance as seen here.

A quick and simple post today – a view from yesterdays visit to Rowney Woods:

As is rapidly becoming our custom we visited Rowney Woods again today. We are now expanding our walks to include the countryside around the woods and continued out to the Debden Green area. The weather has been odd this year with summer starting early, pausing and then restarting a couple

Tied to the little dock I was taking photographs from was this far from impressive boat. Once upon a time I’m sure this will have been zipping around the lake, but now it is slowly sinking into it.

Still at Leeze Lodge Lakes, I saw this picture as I was heading back to the car. The problem with this type of picture is the moon always looks a lot smaller when photographed than it did when you were there – mainly because your eye continually compensates and changes

So, after a few posts we’ve made it to the actual sunset shot. It really was a beautiful evening, I had half expected the lake to be full of fishermen but it was deserted, except for me, loads of birds and the occasional fish who broke water periodically. Whilst sitting

A word I can very rarely spell… So after the sunset mentioned below I got some great silhouettes of some of the trees on the walk back to the car…We will get to the actual sunset bit eventually!

Moving on from Oxford, Sunday saw us enjoy yet more unseasonally hot weather. I spent most of it lounging around the house, enjoying the fact that I really didn’t have to do anything but, as usual, the photography bug bit late afternoon and I went in search of a sunset
