Continuing my walk down the River Stort at Roydon I came across this lock with a number of long boats lined up.
Heading away from Harlow towards Hoddestone is a small, old village called Roydon which appears in the Doomsday Book. The River Stort flows through the village. As it was such a nice day today I headed there this lunchtime and made this HDR photograph of the river and narrow boats.
I visited Little Leighs on Sunday and set off for a short walk while I waited for the sun to set over the lake there. After half an hour I’d gone to far to get back so ploughed on for Chatham Hall…which was a good mile further away than I
This is the view looking out from around the car park at Easton Lodge.

This shot was from last Saturday in Rowney Woods. Snow was still deep through the open rides of the wood and it was clear that not that many people had been through the woods in the last few days…no doubt, because of the snow.

We’ve not had any pylons for a while – so here are some from earlier today on the edge of Rowney Woods 😉

As it has started snowing again this evening I thought I’d publish another of my photos from last Sunday. This is of the River Chelmer which flows through Great Dunmow on its way, unsurprisingly, to Chelmsford and then on East.

This one was taken 3 weeks ago over in Berners Roding. It’s one of the few non-HDR’s I took that day.

This is from my first visit to Parndon Mill earlier this month. This is one of the moorings on the River Stort.
