This is a composite of two shots both taken this evening whilst I sat by Doctors Pond watching the world go by.

This jackdaw has taken to visiting our bird table but absolutely refuses to have his photograph taken in any conventional manner so I had to accept this was the best I was going to get of him today.

This young chap/ess visits our garden periodically and has been seen off by one of our own cats before. S/he didn’t seem entirely keen on having his/her photograph taken either.

I know, she’s missing her bonnet 😉 This female mallard duck was being pestered up and down Doctors Pond in Great Dunmow by various male mallards – she was definitely centre of attention.

Having watched Game of Thrones (Sky +) I suddenly realised it was 11.30pm and no photo completed so I raided debbies knitting pots and got these very nice wooden knitting needles…she’s got quite a collection – perfect for a bit of macro photography.

This is a very photographic church, especially when you take in all its surrounding landscape. The stormy clouds of this afternoon certainly helped give a mood to the image. The church is in Beauchamp Roding which has a population of just 180 people so no surprise that that share their

We visited Rowney Woods for a walk today and found loads of new blossom sprouting out everywhere – here is just a small sample of what was on show.

Debbie made this paper (well, tissue) flower today and it looked pretty good. I thought I’d make a macro shot of it – lit from the right with a desk lamp.

More flowers are coming into bloom in the garden. This is the third camellia flower that has appeared on our new camellia tree, this is the first that hasn’t bloomed on the opposite side of the plant, up against the wall…what attraction the wall has for these flowers I don’t
