It really hasn’t been the best weather down here the last week or so – freezing fog this morning…lovely

We had the coldest morning of winter so far today and a heavy frost. The budlea is definitely regretting sprouting leaves early this year…the clematis had not faired much better, but at least it was expecting this sort of weather.

It’s been a cold and very foggy day today in Dunmow…at least where I live. If you walked up to the High Street you got above the fog and it was a clear blue sky…still very cold though.

I got Debbie a new bird table for Christmas and we have had the first visitors to it – they may not have all arrived at the same time ;-). The Sparrows, Doves and Tits are still rather suspicious of it and haven’t yet ventured into it…

Elijah has definitely had enough of the Christmas spirit and would like everyone to shut up and leave him alone.

This is no reflection on what actually happened on Christmas Day – we had a lovely day (and a very pleasant morning walk in Rowney Woods, which we had all to ourselves)…but it was an amusing title.

Let’s face it, shooting a sunset at Doctors Pond is rather like shooting ducks in a barrel…even with a new manual focus lens I’ve hired which I’m not convinced I’m focusing quite right yet.
