We always get poppies growing on the roadside on Bigods Lane. I wasn’t sure we would see them this year as the farmer has been cutting the grass verges regularly. Not only that, but one area where they usually grow had been turned into an emergency path during some flooding

We had another new young visitor today when a fledgling Goldfinch arrived with one of its parent’s. We always enjoy the Goldfinch visits and I think this is the first time we have (knowingly) seen one of their fledglings.

After a few days of baking sunshine we came back down with a bump and loads of rain today. Unfortunately, we missed out of the forecast thunder storms, but at least the umidity has cleared and the temperature has dropped significantly, hopefully meaning we can have a good nights sleep
This poor Blue Tit is being worked to death by its brood of chicks. At this time of year all the birds are looking exhausted.
Who knew Coriander was such a pretty plant when young, I don’t think i’ve ever seen the flowers of the plant before. This is in our garden and we have eaten some of the leaves already and they were exactly as you’d expect 😉
