This old girl had clearly had a long hard night, she had 4 lambs suckling and they looked (to this very untrained eye) very new born. They watched me closely as I passed by…
We took a walk around Matching in Essex today. The local farmer had brought his sheep down, presumably, for lambing. There was hundreds of them, all various and slightly frightened in equal degrees. Once you’d walked past them they’d follow you in a slightly sinister manner 😉
This is an old shot taken back in August of last year but is one of my wife’s favourites – never one to bow to pressure… 😉
I spotted this fellow on a wander through Dunmow last Sunday morning. I accidentally disturbed him (I had no idea he was there) and he flew off into these trees. This looks to my very untrained eye to be a Little Egret – a type of heron to you and
Marching around Dunmow after the snow fall a couple of Sunday’s ago I spotted this character searching out his breakfast.
When I visited Hanningfield Reservoir I was really there to see the birds, although I was under no illusion that my meagre 200mm lens was not going to be long enough to catch the birds, especially as the reservoir is so low – you can’t get anywhere near the edge
We’re heading back to Rowney Woods this weekend, but here’s a shot from our last visit of some of the many deer entering Rowney Woods.
