This may or may not be a winter damselfly – its colours are right but it could just be an immature damselfly of another variety. It was seen on the River Pant at Little Bardfield.

There were 2 quite magnificent weeping willow trees around Doctors Pond a few years ago. Then, this one was (possibly for good reason) cut right back to the trunk…it’s clearly a fighter though and it’s definitely making a come back.

Popped over to one of my favourite bug areas today over in Little Bardfield and saw plenty of Banded Demoiselles and Mayflies, along with a collection of beetles and this butterfly, a speckled wood.

Across Doctors Pond at the moment is new life…except for these characters 😉

There’s been an explosion of new life around Doctors Pond. We have a Moorhen with chicks, a Mallard with ducklings and Cananda Geese with their goslings.

I spent the day at the Gatwick Aviation Museum and got loads of great pictures of post WWII planes, including shots of the inside of a Shackleton bomber, however, today’s picture comes from first thing this morning when I popped out to Doctors Pond and saw these goslings. Mum and
