After a few days of baking sunshine we came back down with a bump and loads of rain today. Unfortunately, we missed out of the forecast thunder storms, but at least the umidity has cleared and the temperature has dropped significantly, hopefully meaning we can have a good nights sleep
This poor Blue Tit is being worked to death by its brood of chicks. At this time of year all the birds are looking exhausted.
Who knew Coriander was such a pretty plant when young, I don’t think i’ve ever seen the flowers of the plant before. This is in our garden and we have eaten some of the leaves already and they were exactly as you’d expect 😉

We think we may have been misidentifying this flower in earlier posts, we’re now pretty sure it’s actually Herb Robert (Geranium robertianum). Whatever, it’s still very photogenic, this time I have captured more of its underside.
We’ve had very little fledgling action, except from the Starlings. Last year we had all sorts including Blue Tits, Sparrow and Greenfinch fledglings so far ths year, nothing, until today. The Sparrows visited with two of their fledglings today, and here’s one of them, looking quite cute on our garden
…most softly lulling to my soul John Keats I’ve walked past a corner of cultivated poppies many times without actually noticing them, either that or the recent growth has been spectacular. Perhaps there needed to ne more dancing for me to notice them.
