A dull and dreary day so I popped into Brantham Church. It’s been a while since I visited a church – I spend a lot of time in them when I first started out in photography, because they are, pretty much, deserted and you can potter about in peace, and
…do you see what I did there 😉 I nipped out to the post office just before sunset and grabbed this shot of some teezles overlooking the River Stour esturay at Manningtree.
Playing around with a corkscrew and a lamp in the kitchen this evening…I had hoped to get it with its “arms” up…but I didn’t have the patience to work out how to do that 😉
Following on from my previous forks and shadows photograph I thought I’d have a go a spoons this time. Not as interesting as the forks shot, but I enjoy the simplicity of these pictures.
We visited the National Trust’s Wicken Fen this afternoon for a pleasant walk. It was very busy as the weather was quite lovely. Whilst I’ve taken this photograph before, it really is the number one subject at Wicken Fen…the highland cattle were hiding in the long grass and the ponies
A very dull grey day today. I took a quick drive up to Alton Water and saw all sorts of interesting birds – cormorants, great crested grebes, a robin, wagtails, blue tits, a lovely white Egret…and what do I bring back photographically…a seagull!
I had half an hour for lunch today so only had time to take a quick stroll down the land from work. I noticed these apples in someones garden…perfectly natural, but I suspect no one would by an apple like this if they found it in the supermarket 😉
A busy day at work meant no lunchbreak and then poor weather prevented a quick run out on the way home…so I dug the forks out, which I haven’t done for a while. It was quite restful setting them up to produce this shadow pattern…simply satisfying.
I wouldn’t normally publish a photograph like this because, frankly, it’s not very good…but it excited me that, without knowing it, I had photographed a bird I’d never (knowingly) seen before, being the Lapwing. Now, I’m in no way a twitcher, but since I took up photography I have certainly
I took a quick trot down to Lower Holbrook and my stretch of beach this lunchtime armed with my 2 cameras, one digital, one film and my 16 stop ND filter. This shot took 350 seconds to take..just short of 6 minutes. You then have to wait another 6 minutes
