When I saw this very large crop of bulrushes it immediately got me thinking about Game of Thrones and heads on spikes and knew I wanted to get a shot of these from below to give a more overpowering feel to the picture. These, if you didn’t know, have gone to seed – hence all the “down” that creates that impaled look.
