160-166-365v5 – A Difficult Week

I’ve been poorly.

Whilst taking Sunday’s photograph I started to feel a bit…odd… I’d not felt quite right for an hour so and I started to get a bit light/fuzzy headed. I headed home, had a pleasant evening and went to bed. Took the Jess out for a walk in the morning and felt very poorly half way up the walk. Came home, cancelled a meeting we were due to have and retired to bed. I’ve had a couple of visits to the doctor’s and a strong course of antibiotics was prescribed…which still hasn’t cleared up the problem and I’m due back at the Doc’s tomorrow. I am feeling somewhat better though and thought I’d have a go at updating the daily blog.

I could have tried to make a post out of each image but I don’t think there’ll be much “quality” here 😉 – and yes, I haven’t looked at what I have yet! So here goes!

Bullets!

Is there some strange psycological reason I should choose a couple of bullets to photograph a couple of spent cartridge shells as I became ill? I found these on one our forestry walks with Jess during October/November of last year. We had come across a deer stalker on one of our walks – Jess was quite frightened of him.

I have already lost the ability to get the background exposed correctly!

The Jess Is Worried

Worried!

This day was the worst…whilst I’d be seeing the Doctor tomorrow Debbie knew things weren’t good when I couldn’t eat my lunch and refused Dinner (I managed a piece of toast). This is unheard of territory! Nothing puts me off my food.

Jess is concerned!

This was the one photo taken today to keep me in the game!

A Frog!

I’d seen the Doctor, got (and taken) some antibiotics so everything was fine, surely…well…ish. I was confident enough to pop out into the garden in search of a picture for today. It wasn’t long before I knew this may well be a mistake, but hey, nothing ventured!

Debbie spotted the frog…it did take me about 3 attempts to successfully operate the camera to get the shot and I promptly retired to bed.

Street Feeling

Street Feeling

As the antibiotics start to kick in, so I start to think I might see the back of this by the weekend. I’m cheered by the news that last weeks entry to the 52frames web site has been selected as one of the top 52 images of the week so have a quick go at taking this week’s subject “street details”(this won’t be troubling the selectors!). I manage lunch and the nausea and headaches that have been plaguing me all week lift…the main issue stubbornly remains however.

A Lovely Day

Whilst I’m not feeling bad in myself, I cannot shake the main issue I’m suffering from, it’s improved very slightly, but that’s all. I visit the Doctors again and demonstrate my Yorkshire upbringing by being too tight to allow the extraction of blood from my veins! I hive some up on the 5th attempt and come home with lots of those dot shaped plasters on my arm and back of my hand.

A nice macro (of a Greater Stitchwort (Rabelera holostea) I believe) helps for an OK photo for the day.

Have I Taken a Photo Yet?

At 23:45 tonight it suddenly struck me that I hadn’t yet taken a photograph for the day yet. It’s been a shocker weather wise. Storms arrived at around midnight last night and we have had very heavy rain for the most of the day.

I asked Debbie if I had taken a shot yet, she didn’t know so I dashed into my office and photographed  a small Leeds United statuette an old friend made for me and retired to bed.

When I looked this morning I was amused to see that I had, in fact, taken a few shots earlier in the day, including this nice shot of a bouquet of flowers from the garden that Debbie had put together!

It’s Sunday afternoon and I haven’t yet taken today’s photo, but I am feeling a lot better in myself. I see the Doctor again tomorrow so fingers crossed that all will be well after that.
