196-365v4 The Burning Moon

For a larger version of the image just click it

This is a shot (actually, it’s 2 images made up of 9 shots per image) of the moon I took around sunset this evening. I took a number of different images that I’m going to combine with another image of the moon I have yet to take (but will take hopefully at the weekend, probably Sunday)…but that’s for another day.

So I was playing with the 2 images of the moon (same shot, just taken a few minutes apart) and I found that by blending them using the colour burn blend mode it picked out the colours of the sunset (well, that’s what I think it has done anyway) which produced this image of the moon apparently on fire. It’s not as sharp as I would like it to be – Photoshop couldn’t line it up at all so I had to do that manually so I assume i must have jogged the camera (that was on a tripod) when I took the shot.

I thought bearing in mind the climate emergency that we are all living through along with the current troubles in South Africa this was an interesting metaphor of the times we live in.
