014/366 Dawn in Aythorpe Roding

When I went to bed last night I told myself that, should I wake up early I had to get up and get out to shoot the sunrise. I’m an idle beggar &, even when I was telling myself this I was thinking “no chance!”.

So, I was surprised to find myself marching around Great Dunmow an hour before sunrise. I knew that I wanted to get some shots of the windmill at Aythorpe Roding so I jumped into the car and set off. It was, as you will be able to tell from today’s picture, pretty cold. I got the full sunrise, including the windmill, but this was my favourite shot, typically, including the moon.
