A quick view of Doctors Pond and this evenings sunrise. Someone was having a bonfire so, yes, that is smoke on the water 😉

Down the river from yesterdays photograph is Roydon which is where I nipped out at lunchtime today to capture this HDR photograph. We seem to have run into Summer again – I saw my first butterfly of the year here as well.

The sun finally made an appearance today so I nipped down to the River Stort by the A414 to catch the sunset this evening.

This is Broadoaks Manor, a Tudor manor house surrounded by a moat. In the 1590’s the house sheltered a catholic priest, Father John Gerard, during Queen Elizabeth I’s persecution of the Catholic faith…which was fairly typical of the Tudor monarchs of the time.
