Just a quick shot from this morning’s walk and clear signs that autumn is just round the corner.

I followed this lady for some distance this morning. Where it was safe to do so the dogs flanked her on each side. I see quite a lot of people walking their dogs this way now. It’s great to see because the dogs get there exercise and these mobility scooters

It’s a bit noisy this shot but I enjoyed the look this Moor Hen is giving the feather behind it…and being a little short on top myself I could relate.

It was a rather lovely morning today in Great Dunmow…I cursed my laziness as I had ditched the big camera with the macro lens and went out with my super wide lens on the lightweight Sony…it was a morning full of sparkling dew on spiders webs…never mind…next time maybe!

From this mornings walk, this viewpoint from the top of Beaumont’s Hill is always a favourite of mine.

A quick look back at my favourite tree on my morning walk.

Dashing back from a meeting I revisited the old gatehouse just off the A120 as you enter Great Dunmow. This brick archway gatehouse (C17, remodelled in the C18, listed grade II) survives on the southern boundary of the Little Easton Manor site. It continues to deteriorate, despite its listed status.

The poppies on the roadside along my morning walk are still going strong – you can earlier shots of them here and here. Bearing in mind when I’ve seen Poppyfields in the past they haven’t lasted that long, I’ve been pretty impressed with the longevity of these.

I definitely attracted some attention from the local sheep as I passed by them on my morning walk today. It was nice of them to pose for their photographs though.
