Forked Lines
2014 - 365 Project

295/365v2 Forked Lines

A busy day at work meant no lunchbreak and then poor weather prevented a quick run out on the way home…so I dug the forks out, which I haven’t done for a while. It was quite restful setting them up to produce this shadow pattern…simply satisfying.

294/365v2 A Lapwing and a Sandpiper

I wouldn’t normally publish a photograph like this because, frankly, it’s not very good…but it excited me that, without knowing it, I had photographed a bird I’d never (knowingly) seen before, being the Lapwing. Now, I’m in no way a twitcher, but since I took up photography I have certainly

293/365v2 A Bit More Than Driftwood

I took a quick trot down to Lower Holbrook and my stretch of beach this lunchtime armed with my 2 cameras, one digital, one film and my 16 stop ND filter. This shot took 350 seconds to take..just short of 6 minutes. You then have to wait another 6 minutes

292/365v2 Parasite

Walking through Rowney Wood I noticed this bramble that was being used by a parasite to climb up a nearby tree. I enjoyed the strangulated thorn appearing between the wrapping vines. I thought a rather more cinematic look would work well with the picture.

291/365v2 Rainbow Over Maersk

I took a drive across to Walton on the Naze today. When I arrived it was completely overcast and starting to rain. After a rather depressing walk along the pier…to find the end of the pier was closed I returned to the car to ponder my next move. Rather than

290/365v2 Silver Birch at Anglesey Abbey

Our week of visiting National Trust properties finished with a visit to Anglesey Abbey, our 4th property of the week. We were again impressed by the National Trust marketing and sales machine, very busy despite it being a pretty dull Autumn morning (it brightened up considerably in the afternoon), with very

289/365v2 Reflected Ripples

We visited Ickworth in Suffolk today. Before visiting the Rotunda we took a stroll around the countryside surrounding the house. Typical rolling hills with some really nice large ponds / small lakes dotted around. The National Trust certainly have their marketing well set up as it was quite busy even

288/365v2 European Garden Spider

According to wikipedia…so take this with a pinch of salt, the european garden spider will eat its web during the night, including all the bugs therein, and then re-spin its web in the morning. I know for a fact, that this web has been here for at least 3 days,

287/365v2 Flatford Flood

We visited Flatford today to find a rather soggy Dedham Vale…so soggy that you couldn’t walk on it without some pretty substantial boots. To compound the issue the National Trust are just in the process of renewing the lock gates just outside the mill…so actually there are no lock gates

286/365v2 My New Old Gear

A couple of weeks ago a friend from the Bishops Stortford Camera Club gave me this Praktica LB camera and a couple of lenses as I was keen to give film photography a go. Film (black and white) was purchased along with a 28mm f2.8 lens to go along with
