The Ford at Turling

Whilst walking to Turling we had seen a few road signs pointing to the ford, but warning that there was no vehicle access across it, fairly unusual as a ford, by its nature is supposed to be a shallow, crossable, part of a water course. Clearly, this one wasn’t, although it was good to see a set of tyre tracks (on the far side looking at this picture) that reached the edge of the ford, but didn’t actually enter it. The depth posts are not the most helpful, as the depth increases considerably in the middle of the ford.
