Young Dumb Pheasant

We were back in Rowley Woods this weekend, a mid afternoon visit so we weren’t expecting to see much Deer action – but we ran into a family group again and a Muntjac that must have been hiding from the larger fallow deer. Despite being pretty close to the Muntjac I was unable to get a decent shot of him/her. What we did get a good shot of was this young pheasant. He was clearly cock of the group because he was definitely standing his ground as all his mates ran here and there (see this earlier post for the usual reaction!) to get away from us – quite a handsome fellow I’m sure you’ll agree.
