The fair comes to Dunmow a few times a year. It’s not a large fair but it’s always interesting to see it first thing in the morning with no one around.

Despite living close to Doctors Pond in Great Dunmow we very rarely see damselflies in the area…indeed, this is only the second time I have seen one in our garden after 18 years of living here.

I visited this very pretty timber church in Suffolk to photograph the outside of the building, however, the sun was directly above and in line with the church making it impossible to shoot. Fortunately the inside of the church was really quite lovely!

Another glorious day meant it was way to hot to venture out until 8.00pm in the evening. With sunset not until 9.20pm that’s not such a problem, the woods were still really dark with the heavy summer canopy blocking out much of the sunlight…so, this is a public footpath we

Blazing sunshine all day – the damselflies were very busy
I joined some of my colleagues from Bishop’s Stortford Camera Club today to photograph the carnival, including a brief timelapse.

Spotted this (and a fair few other) poppies on the road side on my morning walk around Great Dunmow in Essex.
