Who knew Coriander was such a pretty plant when young, I don’t think i’ve ever seen the flowers of the plant before. This is in our garden and we have eaten some of the leaves already and they were exactly as you’d expect 😉

A quick shot from the morning walk…I fiddled around with a whole range of images and ran out of time…so this is it!

We think we may have been misidentifying this flower in earlier posts, we’re now pretty sure it’s actually Herb Robert (Geranium robertianum). Whatever, it’s still very photogenic, this time I have captured more of its underside.

We’ve had very little fledgling action, except from the Starlings. Last year we had all sorts including Blue Tits, Sparrow and Greenfinch fledglings so far ths year, nothing, until today. The Sparrows visited with two of their fledglings today, and here’s one of them, looking quite cute on our garden

…most softly lulling to my soul John Keats I’ve walked past a corner of cultivated poppies many times without actually noticing them, either that or the recent growth has been spectacular. Perhaps there needed to ne more dancing for me to notice them.

It’s nice that we still have 2 really good Butchers in Great Dunmow, this is one of them. When this was H. Stokes the butchery included the whole building including what is now Dunmow Blinds. With the reduction in trade caused by the supermarkets the butchers shop was reduced considerably.

It’s been pretty warm in Dunmow today, even at 7:30am when this picture was taken it was really quite warm…so I gave this ox-eye daisy a run through the “flood” filter in photoshop to give this melting sort of look.

The wild strawberries grow well in our small garden – I’ve included a shot of the flower earlier this year so it is only right that I keep you up to date with their progress. With the number of birds (not to mention the 2 remaining rats) that live and
