Today has been a day of rummaging through boxes to find my old camera strap. The strap continues to be missing but I have found lots of other old bits and pieces in my search for it including my old LED lights that I used in my last 365 project quite extensively and especially on my Black and White Unite series.

So I set up just one of them and photographed my old school pen. Until I found this a couple of months ago I hadn’t seen or used this for about 10 years so it was nice to come across it. I think it must be about 40 years old or so and still writes very well. I haven’t changed the nib and there looks to be something developing on the nib, I assume not rust, but perhaps it is.

It was good to remind myself how versatile these small LED lights are for lighting table top subjects, they will definitely be staying out for use bth in my office and down in the studio.

Here’s what ChatGPT has to say about the Parker Pen Company:

The Parker Pen Company: A Legacy of Craftsmanship

Founded in 1888 by George Safford Parker in Janesville, Wisconsin, the Parker Pen Company has become one of the most iconic names in the world of fine writing instruments. With its commitment to innovation and quality, Parker has maintained a reputation for crafting pens that combine functionality with elegant design.

Innovation and Craftsmanship

Parker’s philosophy has always been simple yet profound: “Make a better pen, and people will buy it.” This guiding principle has led to numerous groundbreaking innovations in pen technology. The Parker 51, launched in 1941, became one of the most popular pens of the 20th century, celebrated for its sleek, modern design and reliable performance.
