012-365v4 Zeiss Ikon Nettar II 518/16

This is my Zeiss Ikon Nettar camera that I used last Saturday. It shoots 12 x 6 x 6 images per roll of 120 film. This particular camera has a Novar Anastigmat 4.5/75 lens and a Pronto shutter and was manufactured between Jul 52 and Feb 59, so is older than me!

I got this via eBay for the princely sun of £25 and it came all the way form Belfast.

I broke out the light pad and led lights and photographed it with my Nikon D800 with both the 105mm macro lens and my 24-70mm lens.

Considering the camera’s age, it’s in remarkably good condition and appeared to work well when I took it out. Sadly the same can’t be said for the photographer who shot the camera thinking he had Kodak Portra 400 film and not Kodak Portra 160 which was actually in the film. This means I have potentially under-exposed all the shots (although I was generally over-exposing by a stop of light based on my meter readings) so it will be interesting to see what comes out.

Fortunately I wasn’t shooting anything important like a wedding so it’ll only cost me a few quid if I have completely mucked it up.
