Another cracking Tuesday evening spent with the Bishops Stortford Camera Club. Today we visited the Nags Head in Little Hadham where we met up with local nature expert, author and raconteur Jono Forgham who took us on a walk around nearby Hadham Hall. A leisurely walk took in some Bee Iris, nesting Moorhens, Swifts, Swallows and Housemartins (amongst other bird life) and then, the highlight, a pair of barn owls who were busy flying in and out of their nest delivering a steady stream of mice. Straight after the first sighting of the owls, a fox appeared so a great night was had by all.
My poor old 18 – 200mm wasn’t up to picking up the owls well enough to publish – so here’s a shot of the locality – the rain held off nicely for us!
