Well, OK, it’s not actually called Sunbeam Lane ;-). This is Cooks Lane in Little Bardfield from yesterday. A very pleasant area to walk around, especially if you like bugs and birds. We saw butterflys, damselflys, mayflys, herons, lots of finches and plenty of swallows.
Wow, it’s been almost a week since I last posted, sorry about that – don’t forget – I post every day on my 366 project. Today’s picture is of the entrance to the Norman Church at Elsenham – St Mary’s.
This is right at the entrance to Rowney Woods proper before you come to the first Y junction when you have to make a decision. After a few visits where we haven’t seen any (mammal) wildlife in the woods we saw a large hare and a muntjac deer this week.
If you’ve followed this blog for any length of time you’ll know that we do enjoy Rowney Woods up in Wimbish. Today was our first visit for a few weeks, mainly due to the dreadful weather, but one thing has certianly come out of all the rain we have had
The weather slightly improved today – at least it was dry – and we took a walk around Rowney Woods. One thing all the rain we have been having has done is encourage a huge burst of growth in all the plant life. It was only a few weeks ago
Taken last Saturday on the way up to Bigods Farm looking back towards Little Easton. The sun beams really looked like they were powering up spring and the oil seed rape.
Another poor day, weather wise, ended up as a great sunset day again. I saw the strong orange tones out of my kitchen window and immediately dashed out to grab this shot. It was great to see other people gathering behind me to take the shot as well – it
The Bluebells are starting to make an appearance around here. We saw plenty in West Wood just outside Thaxted on Sunday.
