Moving into the early morning of my overnight photography adventure through London I lost all my companions…no staying power. So I caught the first DLR from Bank and took a quick dash across to Canary Wharf where I collected the following images:
We had a good walk around London during the early hours taking in Brick Lane and much of the City before heading back to Tower Bridge.
After spending an hour or so on the North side of the Thames overlooking the Shard we crossed to the South side and walked down towards Tower Bridge…we’d be seeing a fair bit of Tower Bridge over the next 14 hours.
Bishops Stortford Camera Club made their way to Epping Forest and a bridge over the M11 that gives a view of the Canary Wharf skyline in London. The cars very kindly lit up the M11 to London sign which definitely worked in my favour.
Had a day in London today with Brian from the Bishops Stortford Camera Club. We had got tickets to visit the abandoned tube station at Aldwych, originally called Strand, which has been closed for the last 20 years. The station is still used for emergency service training and for films
Had a day in London with work and popped out at lunchtime to grab some shots…and got absolutely drenched as the heavens opened. Fortunately I had 10 minutes before my train left on my way home so I took a wander down to towards the end of the platforms where
I was in London for some meetings today and grabbed today’s picture as I made my way to one of them. I do enjoy these vertical shots of buildings and had intended to make this a black and white shot, however, leaving this with its blue colour cast looked far
Continuing the black and white theme, but due to equipment issues, not the long exposure work…which was irritating! This is a photograph of a new office building called the Leadenhall Building being built next to St Helen’s…somewhere I used to work in a past life!
A slightly unusual shot for me, taken looking down at the train level of Stansted Airport, this couple definitely had a two different definitions of running for the train!
