Catching Snow
2013 - 52 Week Project

3/52 Catching Snow

Doctors Pond was the venue for the local kids (and parents) to gather for some sledging. It was a real pleasure going through the pictures when I got back seeing the intense pleasure all the kids were getting from zooming down the hill. As you will gather from this shot

A Frozen Doctors Pond

The snow we were all promised didn’t really materialise overnight. What little we had is shown here on a rather frozen Doctors Pond.

361/366 Stars over Great Dunmow

This is something I’m, looking to do a lot more of in the New Year, photography of the night sky. Tonight really wasn’t the ideal time to give this a go – an almost full moon certainly doesn’t help and being in the middle of a small town makes it

340/366 Out the Bathroom Window – First Snow of Winter

We were surprised, as I think everyone was, to wake up this morning and find the world was white. No indication had been given the night before on the forecast that this was on the way, still, it meant I won’t be scrabbling around at 11.45pm tonight trying to work

337/366 A Moonlit Doctors Pond

Never having paid much attention to the moon before I started photography, I was surprised to find that it moves all over the place…so I hadn’t realised that I would be able to include it in a shot of Doctors Pond from where I was shooting tonight. I had popped

336/366 Down My Street

308/366 Burgers Galore – Great Dunmow Bonfire Night

Tonight was the Dunmow Bonfire and Firework display held on the Recreation Ground. It was excellent and there were hundreds of people there…the place was thronged. The Round Table organise this and they were busy marshalling and, more importantly, cooking sausages and burgers, for an enormous line of hungry folk.

288/366 Autumn on the River Chelmer, Great Dunmow

Sunday started reasonably early for me as I had to complete my second assignment for the marketing diploma I’m currently taking. I wanted to spend the whole day at it so made sure I got out early to capture the days photograph. It was a glorious, warm, autumn morning with

274/366 Doctors Pond Sunrise

Now…I know…you see a lot of Doctors Pond in this 366 project…but I very rarely get up in time to see the sun rise…so when I do, I’m going to show the results (and yes…I have done a sun rise of Doctor’s Pond before). So, despite a heavy cold I
