I took a stroll around Dunmow this afternoon/early evening. The forecast had said we’d have sunny spells all day…I don’t think we saw the sun at all…but it was nice and warm. I ended up down by the Rover Stort and grabbed the brackets for this HDR shot.

Playing around with symmetrical images today sees a slightly different take on Doctors Pond. The image was taken and split down the middle(ish) and rejoined. Just to add a little tension to the image I removed some of the symmetry, particularly from the geese.
Wandering around Dunmow on a cold evening looking for shots, I thought the various lights in town would make a slightly different shot of the High Street, turning them into out of focus bokeh.
I popped out this morning to go to the bakers and went the long way round through Doctors Pond and then up into the town via Star Lane. I took this shot as a fall back as I had an idea about a table top shot I wanted to take.
I took a walk around Great Dunmow today and found this road I had not been down before. It lead to a rather impressive Georgian Manor house that I didn’t know existed on the way was this scene. Walking around the countryside you do see quite a few of these
This was my first go at a “Little Planet”. Just to complicate matters I did an HDR version of it, so 55 shots were taken to make this image…probably a little excessive! It was good fun to make and I do like the effect…and, of course, it’s Doctors Pond, at

We had a light painting evening at the Dunmow Photography Club this evening and, in amongst running around light painting cars I took a couple of minutes to grab this shot of the moon. This is cropped to pretty much 100% and was taken at 200mm on a full frame
